The Board has a shared responsibility for the good functioning of the national association, and to fulfil all legal obligations, the obligations towards the Wikimedia Foundation, our partners, our members, the Wikimedia volunteers, third parties, and the general public.
Appointment[edit]
Board members are voted for, or approved, by the General Assembly. Their assignment ends upon personal decision, or at the end of their term (not being re-elected).
Responsibilities[edit]
The board of directors exercises its powers as a college. Individual board members remain responsible for their personal actions.
Advisor to the board[edit]
Previous board members are automatically appointed as Advisor to the Board, unless:
- they refuse this title of honor
- or, they are revoked from the board
Board responsibilities[edit]
- Validate effective membership requests
- Refuse membership requests, when there are valid reasons
- Apply WMF Chapter Roles and responsibilities
- Fulfil legal obligations
- Introduction for new Board members
