Happy New Year![edit]

We miss our volunteers. We would like to wish our members a corona-free New Year. We would like to be able to organise physical activities again.

21st birthday of Wikipedia[edit]

We celebrate Wikipedia's 21st birthday on Tuesday, 11 January 2022 from 19:00 to 21:00 via, yes, an informal videoconference. There is no special programme, but it will allow participants to connect with each other. A virtual stage is available should anyone wish to present something.

No user account needed. The platform presents itself as a lobby where participants can communicate in small groups. The same platform can be used for presentations and conferences. We want to use this platform on a weekly basis for a Wiki Helpdesk or an informal chat.

Wiki Loves Heritage[edit]

We are looking for five or more volunteers to serve as judges for the photo contest of Wiki Loves Heritage 2021 by the end of January. Candidates for the jury can make their username known via email to support@wikimedia.be. The selection takes place in 3 rounds and takes about 2 to 3 hours in total. The award ceremony will take place on 10 February 2022 during the Public Domain day.

Wikimedian in residence[edit]

Thank you for your generous donations with tax benefits through the Friends of Wikimedia Belgium Fund. In 2022 we plan to launch a project of Wikimedian in residence. Museums or heritage societies can apply through projects@wikimedia.be.
