The Institut interréseaux de la Formation professionelle continue (IFPC) is organising professional courses for teachers.

In 2023 Wikimedia Belgium signed an agreement to offering a training about using Wikipedia in education.

The training have a 2 days program of approximately 12 hour in total.

Presentation of Wikipedia and the Wikimedia Galaxy (Goals, philosophy, etc.)
Presentation of Wikipedia more in details: How is it working? What are the rules? We discover the Community, the antivandalism systems and tools, etc.
Bias on Wikipedia: The gender gaps (between contributors and in the articles), the disparities between the region of the globe, the WASP bias, etc.
How to edit Wikipedia? where should I click?
Finally, an actual attempt of improving the encyclopedia (not creating new articles but just adding a source, improving a paragraph, clarifying a sentence. Something small, doable with no paper sources nearby, and with a visible outcome.)

What do we have learned yesterday (in a pedagogical way)? Do we see some usefullness to use, in any ways, Wikipedia in the classroom with students?
Each teacher is requested to create a (hypothetical) pedagogical program for his students. The program have to use Wikipedia (or any other Wikimedia Project, or even Vikidia) somewhere at any stage of the cursus, in any way. It doesn't have to involve editing Wikipedia. We can be creative in the way Wikipedia is implemented inside the cursus.
The teachers present their programs and we discuss it, we try to determine if each project is realistic regarding the timing, the age and the level of the students, the way it allow evaluation and if it reach the pedagogical objectives.
Finally, we discover the tools aimed to allow the teachers to monitor the activity of the students through the projects: History pages, watchlist, contributions list, Wikimedia Outreach dashboard,...
