YouTube can be a practical tool to publish instruction videos or webinars.

You could create a personal account, or an organisational account (preferred).

Techniques

• You can upload any video format; it is automatically converted to MP4 (SD/HD).
  • Wikimedia Commons only allows for Creative Commons licenses
• You can create playlists, possibly including other videos, and add keywords (tags)
• You might upload subtitles
• Once uploaded, the description can still be updated afterwards

Tips

• You can preset some preferences (default license, default visibility, default categories)

Licenses

YouTube only foresees a standard YouTube license, or a CC BY license.

You might include more specific license requirements.

Known Problems

• To upload a video of more than 15 minutes you need first to verify your account
