NACE code

The NACE code is a Statistical Classification of Economic Activities in the European Community.

Normally this code is registered at KBO as activities. When Wikimedia Belgium was registered no code was assigned.

When we requested our bank account, we used code 91012 (S 91.12, archive activities, openbare archieven, public archives).

It is used by the EU, national social security, and for economic purposes (NIS/Statbel).

Format[edit]

Differents formats are used by different platforms.

There is a new code (V2) since 2008:

  • 5 digits (Belgium) = concatenation of 2 and 3 digits with leading zeros
  • hierachy:
    • section: 1 letter
    • division: dd
    • group: dd.d
    • class: dd.dd (use dddd to lookup at ESTAT)
