Web archive

The Web archive (Wayback machine) is an American worldwide electronic archive of the history of individual webserver pages.

Even when a webserver, or page, disappears its historical content is archived.

It can be used as a persistent reference for Wikipedia statements, or Wikipedia articles.

Known problems

• By default error pages are also logged
  • you should either disable saving error pages, or (backwards) search for a successful web scan (validate the archive page link before using on e.g. Wikipedia)
