The advantage of having a freelance instead of permanent staff is that in Belgium the social security laws are very strict, so that assigning a freelance is easier and more flexible, as it is only based on a business contract and an invoice.
Having permanent staff also involves having an office, additional insurances, more bureaucracy, administration, and people management responsibilities.
