| Description |
Nederlands: Het jaarlijks Pikkeling festival (laatste weekend van juli) eert niet alleen de folklore van en rond de traditionele graanoogst, het groeide uit tot een folklore op zich in de faluintjes streek. Nationale en internationale folk dans groepen van top niveau geven het festival zijn swingende kleur en ‘move’. De plaatselijke bevolking laat de tradities van de oogsttijd herleven tot grote tevredenheid van de duizenden bezoekers. Dans, muziek, ovenkoeken, pannenkoeken, een eigen ‘pikkeling-bier’, kinderanimatie, paardenwedstrijden, oude dorsmachines, graan pikken, vlegelen, … te veel om op te noemen. Deze serie foto’s, genomen tussen 2018 en 2023, geeft een idee van het bruisend Pikkeling festival. The image is part of Wiki Loves Living Heritage in Belgium. ConsentConsent has been obtained for online sharing from both individuals depicted in it and the communities whose heritage it represents. This is an experimental expression of consent that is being developed in the Wiki Loves Living Heritage project in 2023. |
