Email delivery failure
Appearance
Email delivery can fail for multiple reasons:
- Some errors might be transient.
- Some errors can be corrected by the user: setting a new email address, removing the address from the list.
- Other errors require an intervention of an administrator.
Delivery errors

[edit]Message was delivered, but not (yet) read. You can mostly ignore the error, or contact a colleague.
Transcient

[edit]- User does not archive e-mail
- User possibly absent/dead?
- If it continues, maybe remove the address from the list.
Fatal

[edit]Wrong redirect. if it continues, maybe remove the address from the list.
Domain unknown

Host lenniksarchief.be not found: 3(NXDOMAIN)
- This domain does not exist any more (organisation dissolved)
- if it continues, maybe remove the address from the list.
User unknown
[edit]- Changed job?
- Correct the address or remove from the list.
User disabled
[edit]- Changed job?
- Correct the address or remove from the list.
Mail handling

[edit]- Message rejected, suspected spam.
- Target user should register the sender address as trusted
