Digital image processing

JPEG is a photo standaard for lossy image compression.

Multiple techniques can be used to improve image quality, and remove e.g. artifacts.

Specific techniques

1. Cropping
2. Scaling (reducing the resolution)
3. Rotating
4. Some cameras allow for automatic (light) reflection removal (just a click of a button...)
   • Taking a picture through a window
   • Incoming light from a window
