Wikimedia movement

The Wikimedia movement is the global movement behind Wikipedia and its sister wikis and consists of the worldwide collaboration of:
- Editors of Wikipedia and the sister wikis, mainly (unidentified) volunteers
- Wikimedia Foundation
- Wikimedia affiliates, including chapters, thematic organizations and user groups, and their members
Wikimedia affiliates
[edit]A local Wikimedia affiliate is not responsible for the Wikimedia platforms nor represents the Wikimedia Foundation, but supports the goals of the Wikimedia movement and the Wikimedia Foundation in the area where the affiliate has been founded.
Wikimedia affiliates are founded to support the local volunteers and enable local partnerships with other organisations.
While Wikipedia and other Wikimedia platforms are organised by language, are Wikimedia chapters organised by country.
