Plagiarism is a violation of copyright. It is mandatory to detect, and remove, any plagiarism on any Wikimedia platforms.

There exist a handsome tool to check copyright violations on Wikimedia platforms.

CSS code

You can make it easily available for some Wikipedia sites, by adding a global CSS:

Edit m:Special:MyPage/global.css (valid for all Wikimedia websites; you only need to encode this once).

Then, there appears an extra submenu to check pagiarism via the history menu (at least for NL/FR).

One line of code needs to be added to MediaWiki:Histlegend:

Known problems

• The tool can't easily detect the direction of the copyright violation; since there is no unique way to detect the creation date for external works. So, also external works can copy material from Wikimedia without attribution. Please be careful and do not falsely accuse Wikipedians of plagiarism.
