Gmail is very handy, and is much used.

Functionality
[edit]Here we will describe very useful, but generally unknown, functionality.
Anti-spam
[edit]You can add an infix to your Gmail mail address, to trace the source of the sender, e.g. when subscribing to newsletters. Then you can easily detect if your email address has been shared with thirdparty spammers to abuse your address.
Examples:
- wikiuser+wmbe@gmail.com, when Wiki user subscribes to the Wikimedia Belgium newsletter
- wikiuser+wmbelid@gmail.com for members of Wikimedia Belgium
