Digital sovereignty

From Wikimedia Belgium

Digital sovereignty is about being free from geopolitical constraints, whether as an organisation, a business, a government, or an individual.

The problem

[edit]

We are all digitally interconnected. Services are provided by providers, depending on geopolitical conditions.

We should avoid related risks, within the limits of cost, availability, operations, training, or human capacity.

The solution

[edit]
  • Use open-source software.
  • Use standard hardware.
  • Document non-compliance, and risk, mitigate them, or search for alternatives.
