Zuid-Afrika has multiple languages including English and Afrikaans.

Afrikaans is a historic descendant of Nederlands. It has more than 7 mio natives speakers; 9 mio in total.

Germanic languages that are partly mutually intelligible are Dutch, Danish, Swedish, Norwegian, Fries, Vlaams, West-Vlaams, Zeeuws, and Afrikaans.
